Extract that to main battlezone folder,
All files will auto extract to sub folders.

I create that for 1.3, but you can use for 1.2 too.
Wery usefull for 1.2 strats and 1.3 strats.

Shure you can mod or delete newkeys files, do with that what ever you want.

Newkeys does workiin 1.3. Here's a copy of the code I use. Just copy the code blow into notepad, then save as: bzgame_keys.cfg (edit any bind you like with whatever u want) and place into your battlezone II\addon\Custom folder. The numberpad keys are assign .. hold ctrl and numpad keys for taunts etc:

The visibility keys will no longer extend visibility further than that set by the map, so there is probably little use for them, adjusting the fogrange will probably only make things ugly.
I don't think multiworld.neardistance actually does anything now.
I suspect that

There are also now new commands for team colours, including the ability for a server to setup the colours as they wish, in localprefs.ini

They are disabled in multiplayer, but still work on singleplayer (e.g. Instant action etc).
